Comparative Analysis of technical efficiency of wheat production in row planting and broadcasting methods: Empirical evidence from southern Ethiopia

A Cobb–Douglas stochastic production frontier was used to analyze the technical efficiency of wheat producers under row planting and broadcasting methods in Hadiya zone, southern Ethiopia. The estimated results model show that mean 83.4% 57.8% broadcasting, respectively. Approximately 646.882 kg/ha 1393.038 output were lost due inefficiency. This reveals existing practices there is a room increase yield more (42.2%) than (16.6%) following best-practice farms study area. SPF indicates NPS, urea, labour seed are significant determinants level both methods. together with inefficiency parameters education, age, fertility status plot, family size, land fragmentation extension contact main factors had influence on farmers.
